Mario Antonio Ayala

I make paintings and mixed-media works of art.  By applying abstraction I create, using everyday items, a unique piece of art which challenges the viewer's preconceptions while considering my embedded bias.

The focus of my work is to negotiate my painting toward the reactive while occasionally using opposing themes reflective of contemporary society.  I touch various overlapping themes and strategies.  Recurring subject matter can be found in my work, particularly items reflecting popular culture and media, working with repetition, provocation and the investigation of the process of expectations.

With influences as diverse as Antoni Tapies and Andy Warhol, my work reflects both orderly and random dialogue.
